Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Officers stated they were notified by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Police then located multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report preliminary tests suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior official stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack five years ago," he wrote on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of migrant background in five years prior.
