Making the Syrup: Place the listed items inside a pot, bring to a light boil, mixing until the sugar dissolves. After that, turn off the heat allowing it to cool down fully. Transfer into a clean bottle, close it keeping it in the refrigerator, it can be stored for up to a month.
Preparing the Cocktail Base: Pour all the liquids in a big jug, let it rest for 60 minutes, then pass it through preferably using a fine cloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml from the cocktail base into your mixing glass packed with ice, gently stirring carefully for a minute to chill. Strain into a chilled martini glass or similar, top with a few cranberries adding the final touch with a brief mist with the mandarin essence over the top.
